Since its inception in 1999, the Foundation has remained committed to improving quality of life for residents at St. Patrick's Mercy Home. Our Projects for this fiscal year (April 2009 to March 2010) include: the purchase of two bathing systems, the purchase of ceiling lifts, and the replacement of some of the 86 manual beds with electric beds.  Total cost of these projects is estimated to be $125,000.00.   A significant accomplishment of the Foundation was the purchase of a wheelchair-accessible bus for the residents, to be used on their various outings throughout the city. This single project, undertaken in 2003, had the value of $110,000.00, and was supported by the Auxiliary in the amount of $10,000.00.

Other projects undertaken by the Foundation since 1999 are as follows:

• Renovation of nursing stations
• Purchase of electric beds and wheelchairs
• Annual purchase of Christmas gifts for residents
• Assistance with the upgrading of the food delivery system
• Purchased a hot water urn for the Red Rose Café
• Chapel renovations
• Purchase of 4 bathing systems
• These projects, from 1999 and including our present commitments, total $500,000.00!
